Priorities, Important as Life

We are made or marred by our decisions in life. Man is a product of his decision right from the garden of Eden. Life is all about getting priorities right. Failure to define purpose makes abuse inevitable.

Everything in life has order of precedence. At creation of the heaven and earth, the Bible recorded that the earth was void and without form. Darkness covered the face of the deep and  the Spirit of God moved upon the waters. Then, "God said let there be light, and there was light", Genesis 1:1-3. Light came first for a reason. God was teaching us the need for order - need for a precondition. God is a God of order and not an author of confusion.

1 Corinthians 14:33, says: "For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints."

Apart from Adam and Eve, every man has to undergo certain phases before adulthood. A newly born baby can't eat anything adults do, cannot speak, run etc. How can one get his priority right? Allow God to counsel you through His Word.

Matthew 6:33, says: "But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you."

From the above verse, we can resolve that the first thing to consider in life isn't the cars to drive, the houses to live in, the clothes to wear, the foods to eat and drinks to quench thirst, the fat salary-earning  jobs, the fame and positions or power and what have you. These are not the first in order of precedence on God's purpose for man, His kingdom and holy life is.

Mark 8:36-37, "For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?"

I hear people say "I was born poor, I must die rich". That's good and speaks of hard work. It is rather better of such saying to declare that "I was born a sinner, but must live and die SAVED". Carry this mentality, making such proclamation. Know this, wealth on this earth ends here on earth and won't buy a place in heaven, it is only righteousness through grace that does. Heaven is the ultimate goal, everything else is secondary and vanity!

Jesus had plans for His twelve disciples, despite Knowing that Judas will betray Him. He never made Judas to feel unwanted, He knew Judas was part of journey to success.

Matthew 19:28 , says "And Jesus said unto them, Verily I say unto you, That ye which have followed me, in the regeneration when the Son of man shall sit in the throne of his glory, ye also shall sit upon twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel."

Jesus knew Judas was destined to betray Him, but still left the chance for him to repent after betrayal and this was why Jesus still enlisted him among 'the twelve to judge the twelve tribes of Israel' (as we read in the above verse) subject to Judas' decision subsequent to the betrayal.

In Matthew 10:1-4, Jesus gave power to His twelve disciples for signs and wonders - great anointing that money cannot buy. Judas, failed to get his priority right. The love of money swayed him, and he was destroyed. One can equally see this in the life of Gehazi. He because of the lust of the eyes went for the immediate ( Naaman's gifts) , and missed the ultimate which could have been a double of Elisha's anointing, 2 kings 5:20-27. I pray for you: " You Shall not miss the ultimate in the name of Jesus". Remain Blessed!
